The new chef is a rock star! We had a great starter mix - two kinds of tartare plus salad - and then excellent bouillabaisse and Ochsenbacken.
Wonderful food selection with many worldly flavors. Much appreciated to have Die Insel open for pick-up so we can experience excellent food at home during all the Covid-19 closures. Check out their weekly options and just ask for preparation instructions and everything is delightful. Their Moroccan Chicken with fennel and chickpeas was filled with flavors that you don’t always find here in Germany. It was excellent! And of course the German inspired winter Goulash was nothing short of perfect along which included ‘melt in your mouth’ mushroom dumplings (Knödel). You can find their weekly offerings easily on their website and Facebook, etc.

Beautiful "old" farmhouse. Cozy and great food. We had a 3 course menu for Christmas. Great. A starter was Smoked Salmon Mouse with salmon and pumpkin... I would have liked to have had that three times... sooooo good.
Prices were very fair for the quantity and quality...almost cheap.

Absolutely fantastic location! I was able to accompany a brilliant wedding celebration here. The great outdoor area gave the celebration a special atmosphere and was the perfect place for the free wedding!
Mr. Tim Kappelmann's service staff was not only super professional, but also exceptionally warm. The food exceeded all guests' expectations - simply delicious!
The wedding party was a complete success - not least because of the special location and the island team there! Five stars are not enough! The same applies here: 100% recommendation!
A really lovely restaurant, large and spacious yet cozy and elegant. The food was fantastic, really special. A little more expensive, but it was totally worth it. A special menu and every bite is a pleasure. Clear recommendation from us. The staff was also very friendly and attentive. We'll definitely come back again...

We ate a 3-course meal. But you can also just eat a schnitzel. The food tastes very good and is well prepared. You can definitely tell that Tim enjoys cooking. We also really enjoyed the wines.
In summer you can also sit outside in the beer garden.
